The LG G3 Smartphone is Coming Soon in June

The LG G3 has been revealed in London, New York and San Francisco, via media events from LG this week. See product video below.

The current LG smartphone LG G2 which was released on August 2013 got positive reviews, positioning itself at the top of PC Advisor’s chart for best smartphones. LG G2 also earned the recognition as the judges’ favorite in the annual 2014 If Designs Award last March in Seoul, and South Korea, for its innovation and design that spell convenience-oriented features. While the debate of a rear button design still raises eyebrows, the smartphone is an awesome choice.

There are many high expectations for LG G3 this year. PC advisor said LG’s next flagship smartphone is worth the wait. For those who did not buy the recent top phones like Sony Xperia Z2,Samsung Galaxy S5 (GS5) and HTC One M8, your dream phone is here.

Specs

The LG G3 will ship with Android 4.4 Kit-Kat system. It will be the first smartphone to sport a Quad HD or QHD screen. As QHD suggests, it is four times more in pixel count than HD, also known as 720 pixels. LG confirmed to Engadget LG G2’s successor will come with a QHD display. Screen will be 5.5 inches, with LCD panel. The processor should be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 in Adreno 330 GPU which will put it in the levels of GS5, One M8 and Xperia Z2.

Cool features – Laser focus, Knock-Knock, a new keyboard and it looks good

The biggest addition is the fact it wont be wrapped in cheap plastic like the LG G2. It will dawn a new plastic body that looks metallic – what? Well it looks cool I guess. You end up putting it in a case so we should review the cases.

The Camera – most important part of the phone

The LG G3 will have the same camera as LG G2, enhanced with optical image stabilization and 13MP,  but it has seen some improvements as it now has a dual-LED flash. It will have a Laser focus that focuses and is ready to take a picture in less than a millisecond. I think that is fast 🙂

It should be able to focus quickly and take sharp photos. The front-facing camera is 2.1MP for all our selfies.

LG G3 battery

The G3 has a removable 3000mAh battery which is roughly in line with rival phones. The Samsung Galaxy S5 for example has a 2800mAh battery, while the Sony Xperia Z2 has a 3200mAh one.

Of course neither of those phones have QHD screens, so it remains to be seen how well the battery will hold up, but at least you can carry a spare with you if need be.

But did you catch that? A removable battery. Nice!

Knock-Knock

It will extend its current “Knock” feature to include a “Knock Code.” I have to say the Knock function is pretty convenient. Tap a secure 3 to 8 point code based on a 4 quadrant pattern. You can tap the pattern anywhere on the screen relative to size and position and the phone will unlock. Your phone is secured with 86,358 different code possibilities.

Tap It Out

Another cool feature will be a Smart Keyboard. You can adjust the height of the keyboard on screen – very cool. Actually it will adjust itself too.

The Smart Keyboard is an intuitive, easy-input keyboard that provides comfortable, efficient operation and adapts to the user. Advanced features include keyboard height control, adaptive area recognition based on word prediction, user behavior and easy cursor control.
