Forging a Stronger Patient-Doctor Relationship with electronic records

Are electronic personal health records (EPHR) that close? I welcome the days of electronic health records are availble anytime for any emergency. If you have a health issue that may be life-threatening, you know what it means to have those records available wherever you are and in an emergency.

No doubt HIPPA needs to be in place for this to happen. The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), which applies to health care service providers such as doctors’ offices, hospitals, and insurance companies will ensure electronic records to be private and accessible. In fact the Federal Trade Commission has just issued a final rule requiring certain Web-based businesses to notify consumers when the security of their electronic health information is breached.

MedEfficio is a free, easy to use point-and-click, interactive health history questionnaire for patients to complete before their next doctor`s visit. The completed questionnaire enhances the time patients spend with their doctor.

Patients have the option to provide the report to their physician via email, by printing a copy, or uploading the report to their personal health record (PHR). No information is stored by MedEfficio which allows the patient to retain control of their completed questionnaire.
More information on the company and MedEfficio can be found here…
